I'm a teacher. I'm really proud of what I do but unfortunately not everyone can understand this. Sometimes at parties when people have had a few drinks they will repeat this famous saying: Those who can, do and those who cant teach! I keep my cool and smile along while I think to myself that it sometimes feel that the general population must think that teachers attend Clown University:

I have several teachers in my family tree. And I'm just as proud as they are of their profession. As you are by how I read your post! If it weren't for teachers, those who CAN wouldn't know how to talk and do!!

Sometimes we teachers are misunderstood! I agree! But when we can turn students around and give them hope in life, then the struggles are all worthwhile! After all, why do we really teach anyway?
ReplyDeleteVery interesting Ruby post. People who would dare to ask how much money you make are extremely rude and should be embarrassed. But, if they've had a few drinks, that isn't likely. I like Mr. Mali's response. Thanks for following me. ;)

ReplyDeleteI wish people would be proud to say I am a teacher. I wish teachers would get more respect. I fondly remember teachers from all levels of my education.
ReplyDeleteAnd yet I wish the not-so-wonderful teachers would find another line of work. Some do bring the rest of you down in reputation.

A good teacher is a gem. To hold minds and hearts....to nurture, to care for the lives and minds of our young ones...if they do this with honor and respect...

ReplyDeleteI'll tell you that teachers are rarely paid enough. In the lives of so many great and wonderful people, there was always a teacher that influenced them.
ReplyDeleteThere are students that put forth the effort to say Thank You, but most don't and just remember the job you did and how you cared for themn and others.
As far as thew Rubyness of the clown, well, you can't get redder than a clown's nose! Great shot.
