Why do women torture themselves?

Of course its the holidays for most of us!  Its time to splurge in food, drink and whatever pleases us.  I was reading a book by Loretta LaRoche about how food has become a poison.  What you say?  We hardly enjoy our food anymore.  How many times have I tasted something and thought:  I dont know if I should have eaten that? Then we ask 2 or 3 people:  Should I have eaten this?  I bet I am going to get fat from this.  Everything I eat makes me fat.  Oh God, I'm not going to fit in my favorite jeans.

On top of it anytime you eat something, someone reports to you what's in it.  I'm guilty of this.  There's always some fat gram police around, whether its on the box or can label or your girlfriend who's got it all memorized especially if you go to Weight Watchers:  watch out there's 10 points in that bite.  Spit it out now and repent....Then you think, have I reached my quota for the day?  Assisting my dad when he was living in a residence made a big impact on me.  There they were:  all the old healthy people locked away waiting to die.  These were the elderly that played it safe all their lives:  no smoking, no drinking, eating low fat and healthy but now they are all wearing diapers with Alzheimer.  Do I want this?  Hell no! Do I want to eat low fat, so I'l live a long time, as miserably as possible.  What do you think?  I just want to enjoy my food, tabarnak!

WHAT ARE THE OUTSTANDING EVENTS OF 2009 THAT HAD AN IMPACT?

Well since you are asking I am going to write that living in a Muslim country (Qatar) made me feel proud of living in Canada especially if you are a woman.  Becoming a step grandmother was also exciting. Opening an account on Facebook was challenging but fun.  Blogging at this point seems overwhelming since no one close to me can help but being stubborn helps.  I have not figured out how to post pictures yet but I will manage it eventually.  Its a whole new language in blogger world and I am not a tekkie by nature so I will do what the AA preaches:  one day at a time.  What about you?  Anything leave its mark on you during 2009?

Hi everyone,

I've been blogging for several years. So people have called me the "lurker" because of my resistance of getting my own blog. I was just to busy with work, family, etc. So here I am finally with my very own blog. I will post random thoughts, jokes that I hope you will enjoy. I am French so forgive me for the many mistakes I will make but I will do my best and will keep my Oxford friend by my side.
