Recently in the UK, The Trade Union Congress, that represents 7 millions workers, tried to ban high heels. High heels were deemed inappropriate for the work place. According to the TUC, heels higher than 2.5 cm (1 inch) are degrading to women and can cause health problems. This proposition caused an uproar because British, Scottish and Irish women feel that wearing stylettos in the work place contribute in enhancing self-esteem....

As a single woman, i adored stylettos ... as a 50 yo mom ... not so much, but i still admire and lust over some of them ...
ReplyDeleteJust today I was thinking that even though I'm a SAHM with two little kids I really need to get a new pair of stilettos to wear with my jeans on the weekend...
ReplyDeleteWhen I was younger I liked them more then now - now I would kill myself. But why is the government even involved in this. Worry about the important things. lol

Wow! I can't believe I didn't hear about that! As a shortie, I love heels! I'm not sure I could give them up; I love them with work outfits!
ReplyDeletestilettos rock!
ReplyDeleteI used to wear stilletos, but not to work. I wore pumps to work. And I wouldn't wear stilletos now because comfort is more important to me. But to try and legislate them out of existence? WHAT? We've had them for years! I also never turned my ankle in a high heel. No, I did that in flats! ;-)
ReplyDeleteXO,
Sheila :-)
Stilettos are awesome! Of course they make me rather tall, but then again, that's okay.
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining us today!
I love my stilettos!

I think they look very sexy but I could never pull them off -- if I can't walk comfortably in them, forget it :)
ReplyDeleteTalk about Big Brother...lol....I couldn't wear them but I would support any cause that would try to limit our right to wear them. What's next men can't wear wing tips. Oooops, maybe I just showed my age....

It seems hard for me to go on such heels column.
ReplyDeleteHi, I am a new follower from the hop….
ReplyDeleteI agree with the study. I am tall; almost five-eight, and I almost always wear high heels to work. On the rare days I don’t, I just don’t feel the same. I feel way more in control in my heels, especially if I have to attend a meeting….
Hey! Thanks for the follow:)
ReplyDeleteBack at ya!
I can't wear them because they hurt my feet so badly that I can't walk (literally). But I wish I could! They are really bad for your feet, though.
ReplyDeleteFirst, I don't believe in banning anything other than guns. Women should have the right to wear what they want. I love heels but due to vertigo I can no longer wear them. If I could wear them, I'd be wearing them everywhere.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by to say hi...here for a belated follow back from Tuesday hops! Beth @ Two Monkeys & a Washtub

If you can pull off stilettos you should be able to wear them!
If I could wear sky-high heels I would. (that is, if they didn't cause all sorts of health issues) The sad reality is that my ankles are weak enough I'd likely be sporting a cast more often than the shoes and I'd be whining about sciatica pain to everyone who would listen.... But gosh, don't you just love, love, love the way they look??
